A complex urban project, this 23 courtroom facility integrates the Court System's vision of justice, Alaska design themes and downtown development issues. The architectural expression of the Courthouse reflects and illuminates this complex interaction through contrasting formal architectural patterns, natural flowing textures and indigenous cultural expressions. Protected microclimates are created in south facing plazas encouraging year round use of outdoor spaces.
